BOB Information Campaign UpdateMay 02, 2019
We want our customers to be aware of a recent development with our BOB Information Campaign (for BOB jogging strollers made before 9/30/15).
Britax received four reports of breakage on thru-bolt axles that shipped as part of the Information Campaign. We have not had any reports of injuries. The first report was on April 18th and we received an additional three reports by Friday, April 26th. We notified the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) of the potential issue on Monday, April 29th and are working with CPSC staff to address the reported issue.
There were 197 customers who received this potentially affected part from us. Because the parts were recently ordered through the Information Campaign, we were able to quickly contact ALL of these customers. We are making arrangements with these customers to get these parts back as soon as possible. We have not had any reports of similar issues with our other replacement parts.
We are currently developing a new replacement thru-bolt axle, which will be available to consumers who place orders for this part through the BOB Information Campaign. In the meantime, eligible consumers can still place orders for the thru-bolt axle and we will ship them out when they are back in stock.
