What Is a Harness-2-Booster Seat?
Like the name suggests, a harness-2-booster seat converts from a forward-facing car seat with a 5-point harness into a belt-positioning booster seat. Often called combination seats, these forward facing-only seats provide the security of a five-point harness system until your child is ready to ride in high-back booster mode, helping to ensure optimal protection as they grow.

When Should I Switch from Harness Mode to Booster Mode?
Britax strongly recommends that children should remain in a child seat with a 5-point harness until reaching the maximum weight or height allowed. The height and weight limits can be found in your user guide and on the product labels. The Britax Grow With You and Grow With You ClickTight can both accommodate children up to 65 lbs and 49” in harness mode.
You should also check your user manual for any brand- and product-specific guidelines on when to make the switch.
When your child is using the seat in booster mode, the vehicle shoulder belt should lay flat across the center of their chest (not their neck or face), and the lap portion should rest low on their upper thighs (not the stomach).

How Do I Switch the Seat from Harness Mode to Booster Mode?
Once your child is ready to make the transition, you’ll convert the seat into booster mode by either storing or removing the harness according to the instructions in your user guide. The instructions to convert between modes varies by brand and model. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions when making the switch.
