FORT MILL, S.C. – August 23, 2016: In support of Child Passenger Safety Week September 18-24, Britax Child Safety, Inc.will educate caregivers across the nation on proper car seat installation and everyday use. Britax will leverage its expertise as a longstanding innovative engineer of safe, high-quality and intuitively designed products to host events aimed at keeping children safe on the road.

Every day in America, seven out of 10 children ride in car seats that have not been installed correctly, or are in the wrong car seats for their age and size. However, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), approximately 96 percent of parents believe their child seats are installed correctly.

“Every 33 seconds, a child under 13 is involved in a crash. The events Britax will host during Child Passenger Safety Week are vital in bringing awareness to the proper ways to install and use a car seat,” said Sarah Tilton, Britax Child Passenger Safety Advocate. “When car seats and boosters are used properly, they can be instrumental in helping prevent deaths and injuries. This September, and every day of the year, Britax urges parents and caregivers to get their children’s car seats checked to be sure they’re in the right types of seats for their size and are harnessed correctly.”
