Refreshed Britax Marathon® ClickTight® convertible car seats combine trusted safety with clean and simple fabrics that growing infants and toddlers will love just as much as their parents.

FORT MILL, S.C.— March 21, 2022: Britax Child Safety, Inc., U.S. manufacturer of car seats and a child passenger safety technology leader, is pleased to introduce four new fashions on the Marathon ClickTight convertible car seat. The sleek and modern fabric designs are free of flame-retardant chemicals as well as being machine washable and dryable, so parents can get back on the road faster.

The Marathon ClickTight convertible car seat offers confidence on every journey from a rear-facing infant seat (5- 40 lbs.) to a forward-facing 5-point harness seat (up to 65 lbs.). Known for its trusted safety, the Marathon ClickTight convertible combines leading safety technologies, such as the high-strength steel frame, SafeCell crumple zone, and V-shaped tether to provide total peace of mind while you travel. This car seat also offers a 10-year usable life from the date of manufacture.

When asked what’s new about the popular Marathon ClickTight convertible car seat, Kinsey Johnson, Senior Product Manager, said, “We’ve been listening to our consumers and are excited to announce that we now have more sleek, modern designs that are naturally flame-retardant, meaning no added FR chemicals.” Kinsey went on to say, “We also know that deep-cleaning a car seat takes time, so offering a cover set that can be quickly thrown in the washer and then the dryer was a priority during our development process.”

FABRICS WITH NO ADDED FR CHEMICALS

Mindfully-made from top to bottom, the Marathon ClickTight offers four new naturally flame-retardant fashion options with no added FR chemicals in the fabrics. While all brands must meet the same flammability standard, there are different ways to do this. Britax uses a unique knit fabric construction (non-wool) and incorporates selective foam, harness straps, plastic, and metal parts – all of which are free of added FR chemicals. These efforts are helping to reduce the child’s exposure to certain chemicals.

Melissa Sargent, Environmental Health Advocate with the Ecology Center, recently named Britax as an industry leader for “innovating children’s car seats for all ages that meet flammability standards without added chemical flame retardants."

GET BACK ON THE ROAD FASTER

The newly introduced Marathon ClickTight fashions feature easily removable SafeWash covers that are washer and dryer friendly, which means no more hand washing or waiting for the cover to air-dry. The goal is to get busy families back on the road faster. Consumers should always refer to their car seat cover care label and user guide for more specific care instructions.
